Watcha Readin Wednesday...
Well. I've been spending lots of time perusing my Dell owner's manual and Windows HELP files. (they haven't helped)
I did have a book finished to review, but it's rather difficult to do now. My laptop crashed and burned. Going to see about repair/warranty for it tomorrow.
Finally got a day off and it looks like I'll be headin' to Best Buy - 70 miles each way.

Tube Tuesday

I was digging for romantic clips and (not surprisingly) ended up in Notting Hill. Hugh Grant... be still, my beating heart. Well, not still, just slower... anywhooo. Spike the Flatmate is one of my favorite secondary characters of all time so I had to include this bit:

Thing That Sucks More Than Mondays
This "thing" sucks when it blows.
It disturbs sleep, ruins picnics, sends everyone scurrying home from a day at the lake, closes amusement parks, sinks ships and can cause helicopter rescues to fail. It grounds flights and delays planes landing, knocks power lines out, kills trees, intensifies storms and is probably the reason Aqua Net was invented.
I'm talking about wind, m'friends, and I'm damn sick of it. Remember that Schwarzenegger movie, Total Recall, where he was at the colony on Mars? Whenever humans left the Dome, they were subject to hurricane-force gales. Yeah, that's what it's been like around here lately.
I'm on the look for the place on planet Earth with least wind. And planning to move there.

Friday Funny
In a trial, a southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman, to the stand. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"
She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."
The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?"
She nodded. "Why, yes, I do. Iv'e known Mr. Breadley since he was a youngester, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with andone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with threee different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him."
The defense attorney nearly died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, "If either of you ideots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair!"
